In a time gone by, neighborhoods were defined by the quality of the lifestyle in them, and in a simpler time, neighbors knew each other by interacting from front porches, walking down tree-lined streets, and community events. This lifestyle was reproduced in New Haven.
New Haven is one of 15 communities in the carefully planned section of Jupiter called Abacoa. Here the elements of living like raising a family, working and playing were all integrated into one area. The heart of Abacoa is the Town Center with retail shops and restaurants, the Roger Dean Stadium, the Abacoa Golf Club and the Florida Atlantic University Honors College. Abacoa has also brought in Scripps Research Institute and the Max Planck Society, providing an intellectual base, and G4S, formerly Wackenhut, providing a commercial base. Abacoa real estate has a central Jupiter location and the beaches and shopping are only about 10 minutes away.
Homes for sale in New Haven are single family homes with front porches, oak lined streets and garage parking in the rear. The idea is to provide the environment for community interaction. Homes start at two bedroom, two bath floorplans with 1,290 square feet and go up in size to four bedroom, three bath units of approximately 2,700 square feet with two car garages. Driving through New Haven you will see families on front porches and kids playing in the street. There are 515 total units in New Haven built around 1999 and some of these homes have views of the natural preserve areas where the native Florida wildlife is encouraged.
Four schools are located in or near Abacoa. They are: Beacon Cove Intermediate School, Independence Middle School, Lighthouse Elementary School and Jupiter Middle School. The nearby high schools are Dwyer High School and Jupiter High School and these schools are part of the Palm Beach County School District.
