Belize Central America Homes for Sale

Belize is a country that sits on the east coast of  Central America and until 1973 it was known as British Honduras. The country has a long and interesting history that starts with the Maya Civilization who reached the shores in 1500 B.C. This incredible civilization contributed to the society of Belize city and designed and engineered incredible buildings of which you can still visit today, only a few of them have been restored with many more being in the same condition that they were found, and new ones still being discovered. A visit to just one of these sites will give you a glimpse into the Maya people.

If temples and history are not of interest, then Belize doesn’t disappoint in other areas. Bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the east and dense jungle to the west the county is an outdoor adventurer’s playground. Zip line through the jungle for an exhilarating experience or discover the depths of the Belize Barrier Reef just a few miles offshore and home to hundreds of species of coral and fish. From caving to canoeing, fishing to sailing there is an adventure for everyone.

Residents of Belize know how to have a good time with plenty of festivals, many of which take place in September. Dive into the local culture and enjoy local soca music and the sound of steel drums as you party the day away.

For a chance to cool off enjoy the waters of the Caribbean Sea or visit one of the rivers or waterfalls in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.

Belize City provides an eclectic mix of shopping areas such as Ambergris Caye and Placencia with tourist shops, local goods etc. but the country is not a materialistic place, with more of a focus on outdoor living fancy clothes and shoes just don’t fit the ambience.  Food is easily come by with a great choice of restaurants serving up fresh fish from the Caribbean and plenty of vegetables and tropical fruits.

Real estate options in Belize vary wildly from oceanfront villas or luxury homes, resort condominiums, lagoon and canal fronting homes, quiet family homes, or a piece of land in the country to build you dream home.
