Matthew Yost’s biggest inspiration to be a successful Realtor comes from the lessons instilled into him by his mother. “‘What would Mom do?’ is what I ask myself in any tough situation, whether that be in business or in another aspect of life.” Matthew’s mother was an executive in the luxury hotel industry, which is part of what inspired him to get into the Real Estate business. His mom had many challenges to overcome, including raising three boys and succeeding in a male-dominated industry. Through it all, she toughed it out, while also leading with as much kindness as she did strength. Matthew takes the perfect balance of kindness and strength he got from his mother, combining them to become the best Real Estate Agent you could hire!
PRINCIPLES
Before getting into Real Estate, Matthew served in the military, where he learned leadership, discipline, and grit. Afterwards, he transitioned into the role of an account manager for an automotive consultant, where he acquired the skills of client relations and data-driven decision making. These principles have all come full circle to make him into the Realtor he is today. His leadership, discipline, and grit he was taught as a soldier thickened his skin so he can represent you properly, no matter how difficult the other party is when you are trying to buy or sell your home. His client relations and data skills from being an account manager have also greatly benefited him. Knowing how to build a good rapport with clients has molded him into a master negotiator. His deep understanding of data allowed him to learn virtually every corner and development in the Northern Palm Beaches!
COMMUNITY DRIVEN
Not only does Matthew do Real Estate in the community, he also enjoys being an active participant as well. From charity and volunteer work to building bridges with various local businesses such as restaurants and shops, he aims to be as community driven as possible. And speaking of bridges, one of Matthew’s longtime favorite pastimes is (safely) jumping off of bridges into the deep blue waters of South Florida. “As a kid, I originally wanted to be a stuntman. I’ve jumped off of literally every bridge in Jupiter! While it’s fun as a hobby, I think it would be way too intense as a full time job. Real Estate has all of the excitement, minus the danger,” Matthew explains with a chuckle.
CULTIVATION
When Matthew is not busy helping you find the home of your wildest dreams, some other hobbies that he, his wife Tamara, and daughter Samantha enjoy include golf, running, and his personal favorite, gardening. “There’s a real art to cultivation. From limes, to cilantro, and even dill, each of them have different needs and wants, as they too, are forms of life.” To Matthew, gardening and Real Estate are not all that different from one another. Both require a great deal of patience, care, and perseverance. “If you’re willing to stick it out until the end, both lines of work are incredibly rewarding. Just like getting some delicious, juicy, tropical fruits from my years of cultivation, witnessing you and every one of my clients receive the keys to their brand new home is beyond fulfilling.” As his mother used to teach him, hard work does pay off, and if you lead with kindness and strength, the end results are more than worth it!
