Will Ferrell’s “Crash Pad”

American actor, writer, comedian, and producer Will Ferrell enjoys what he calls his “crash pad” at 2845 Woodstock Road in Los Angeles. It gives the busy star, with 5 ongoing movie projects at the moment, a place to sleep when he is done working.

Ferrell, famous for his many skits and impersonations on Saturday Night Live, and comedy movies such as “Anchorman,” “Elf”, and “Stepbrothers”,  purchased the very open and contemporary compound from talk show host Ellen DeGeneres for $9 million in 2006.

The home was built in 1939 and is located minutes from the Los Angeles strip on over 2.25 acres. The gated compound has a pool, pool house, several guest houses, a soccer field, botanical gardens, large rooms, and multiple solar panels. Other amenities include a recreational building, rolling lawns, and state-of-the-art surveillance security.

One odd thing that appears to stick out for a home of this magnitude is the electric pole sitting right smack in front of the home with power lines jutting out in every direction. It’s an eyesore, to say the least, and perhaps it’s what prompted Ferrell to start investing in those solar panels.

Will currently has two films in post-production, Zeroville and The Angry Birds Movie, is filming The House, and has two more films in pre-production, The Lego Movie Sequel and Russ and Roger Go Beyond.
