Vanna White’s Zero-Lot-Line Palace

By Jeff Lichtenstein

Television personality and film actress Vanna White, perhaps best known for her work with the letters on the game show “Wheel of Fortune” since 1982, spends lots of time relaxing at her California estate at 14015 Aubrey Road in Beverly Hills.

White went through an acrimonious divorce with husband George Santo Pietro in 2002, who recently sold their other Beverly Hills home. Santo Pietro is a real estate developer and restaurant mogul. The couple had two children.

White, who has often told the media that she is unlucky in love, enjoys her 8,988-square-foot Mediterranean Manor which features an oval pool and smallish front and back courtyards. The home has 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, an outdoor dining area, several decks, and lots of rooms for her extensive wardrobe. Believe it or not, White has never worn the same outfit twice on “Wheel of Fortune.” Every few weeks she tries on 50 or 60 dresses sent by designers and picks her favorites to wear on the show. She describes her signature look as “elegant gowns,” but has evolved her style over the years. All the interior space she requires to store such a multitude of clothing has left her with a lot of house, but very little exterior green space.

White has also been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for all of her clapping and has clapped more on television than any other celebrity, perhaps 720 times in one show. Looking back, show creator and producer Merv Griffin, and host Pat Sajak, selected White from more than 200 applicants for the job. After she was cast as the letter turner (and she only turned letters for a short time until it became computerized), she starred in the movie “Venus: Goddess of Love.”
