                The "Little Red Schoolhouse" had its first day of classes on March 1, 1886 in what is now West Palm Beach and was the first and only permanent school building in all of southeast Florida at the time. When import opened, Dade County consisted of an area the size of Massachusetts, stretching from the southeast tip of Florida, north through Stuart, and was nothing more than a swath of scattered settlements.                 Ving Rhames' Double Mansion Home

                American film actor, Ving Rhames, perhaps best known for his role as mob boss Marsellus Wallace in "Pulp Fiction," and for his work in the Tom Cruise "Mission Impossible" movies, makes his home at two adjoining estates in Los Angeles. The actor, from New York, purchased the estate in 12935 Vicente Boulevard with his wife Deborah for $4.75 million in 2000, but not content withonly owning one mansion on the block, he bought the property next door in 2005 for $6.5 million.
