Sugar Ray Leonard, born Ray Charles Leonard, enjoys one of the largest mansions in Pacific Palisades at 1550 Amalfi Drive. Best known for his careers as a professional boxer, motivational speaker, and occasional actor, he is often regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time and was named “Boxer of the Decade” in the 1980s.

Leonard moved into the house in 1990 after his personal life upended. His previous wife, Juanita Wilkinson, filed for divorce after ten years and two children, citing domestic abuse as the reason. On August 20, 1993, he married his current wife, model Bernadette Robi, daughter of singer Paul Robi, one of the original Platters, with whom he has two children.

The Georgian-style mansion has 16,773 square feet, 8 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and sits on over 2 acres of land. The boxer and his family enjoy a game room, solarium, sauna, and wine cellar. The estate also has a beautiful oval pool and spa, a tennis court, a lighted fountain, playground, and even an orchid house, perhaps for his wife Bernadette Robi, who loves flowers. The home has a large outdoor dining and BBQ area and a field for croquet, soccer, and softball. Records show that Leonard purchased the home for $6.9 million, despite its $10.5 million price tag and ocean and mountain views.

Sugar Ray Leonard won an Olympic gold medal and was a professional welterweight and middleweight champion, with total career earnings estimated at more than $90 million. He retired from boxing in 1991 and has since been involved in motivational speaking and occasional acting roles.

Leonard is currently involved with his Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation, which raises funds for research and awareness for finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes, and to help children live healthier lives through a healthier diet and exercise. The foundation hosts Charity Boxing Nights.
