Good Riddance to 2020

Good riddance to 2020 is a rally call we all can share.  As 2021 progresses, it will be so nice to get rid of phrases we all learned.  I hope to forget the difference between N95 and K95 Masks. I’d rather worry more about a 6 foot put then keeping 6 feet distance at the grocery store. And I’ll look forward to PP being more something our little dog, Chloe does outside rather than funds to apply for or protective equipment.

One thing the pandemic did not stop was Christmas and Holiday Lights! Christmas Lights must go on! 2021 was not all bad from a local real estate perspective. In fact it was just the opposite. If you own a home here in Palm Beach County, single family homes prices shot up (no vaccine pun intended), a staggering 19.4% from November 2020 compared to November 2019.

Townhomes/condos went up 16.9% over the same period of time. Inventory of single-family homes was down 38.7% going into December of 2020 for single family homes. Townhomes and Condos are not in the same inventory predicament as single-family homes, but even there, inventory is 7.6% less.

I’ll go into more of this next week, but the virus literally stated a spread of movement to areas like the Palm Beaches and with interest rates low and Florida income taxes at 0%, expect the demand to accelerate as the only areas supply can increase is west and north.
