Florida Real Estate Seasonality

Florida Real Estate Seasonality

A few times a year I get a newspaper clipping at dinner or an email from my Mom warning about shark attacks.  She knows I like to swim in the ocean to relax and is certain I will literally become “dead meat”.  I’m not too concerned as the real number of victims is around ten people worldwide.  Jaws and Steven Spielberg though thoroughly baked that propaganda in my worried Mom’s head.  The real fear though comes in the form of Irving.  Irving is a first-time snowbird or renter from New Jersey and is clueless about our roundabouts.  If you are riding a bike in the 2-inch bicycle lanes or trying to navigate your way through the dreaded roundabout – that is a much more realistic horror flick.

Last week when I was in North Dakota and Minnesota I was lucky to see the start of fall colors.  Some in Florida say they miss the signs of fall.  They are all wrong.  In ten days you will see the fall colors. Metallic silvers, shiny blacks, and bright reds.  Yes, the car transporters carrying six automobiles in their metal branches on wheels.  This is the sign of Florida fall and the changing of seasons.  Start watching yourself on the road and it’s back to reservations and going early to restaurants.

For Sellers and Buyers it’s important to know how seasonality works when buying or selling for timing purposes. If you are considering selling this year, you also need to know what your home is worth.  There are AVM’s (automated Valuations Models) that help but did the fellow or gal from Zillow ever come to your house to look at it?  Do they know you replaced the roof or have a new kitchen?  Of course not.  That’s why when we look at your property, we go much deeper. If you want a free valuation of what the sale of your home might bring this season, you can find out here.  I promise we won’t bite!
