Tequesta is Jupiter’s sister city on the north side of the Loxahatchee River. On the very northern edge of Tequesta is a neatly manicured neighborhood of 147 single family homes known as The Moorings. The location on the north side of town means homes in The Moorings are in Martin County, not Palm Beach County, so taxes and insurance are all less expensive.
These three, four and five bedroom homes were built in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s and have floor plans with living space ranging from about 2,300 square feet to over 5,000 square feet, and most homes have private pools. Even though The Moorings is on the northern side of Tequesta, since this is a very compact area all of the community features like the post office, public library, art galleries, restaurants like Hog Snappers and the Village of Tequesta official offices are less than 10 minutes away. And no matter which route you take through the Village you will be greeted by fantastic views of the Loxahatchee River, one of only two Federally Designated Wild & Scenic Rivers in Florida. The River flows down from Jonathan Dickinson State Park into the Jupiter Inlet which leads directly into the Atlantic Ocean where the fish are always biting.
The cultural attractions of downtown West Palm Beach are just 20 minutes to the south via I-95 and the shopping and dining in Palm Beach Gardens are only a casual 15 minute drive as well.
