Jade Lichtenstein is a worker! “I got my work ethic from my parents. Watching my mother and father work through the recession when I was little and eventually open their own business has inspired me to do everything I can. I struggled in school a lot, which most people would find surprising because I looked like a good student. I was able to get good grades because I was working three times as hard as a lot of the people around me. It took me longer to get to the point that everyone else was. Looking back now, it’s been one of the biggest blessings because hard work doesn’t scare me. My parents also showed me a great balance between work and personal life. My dad is a laid-back guy which many people might find surprising because of how energetic he is at work. I’ve learned to turn it on for work and also take time for myself. My mom raised me to be open–minded and understanding, and because of her influence I love meeting all different types of people. But, most importantly, my parents have influenced me to do the right thing. Both are extremely ethical in their professions, and I truly believe they live by the right moral code.”

CLASS PRESIDENT & LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Jade was co-President of Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach for 3 of her 4 years. She also served as a writer and later manager of the award-winning publication, Seeds. “I was very involved in my high school. I did a lot of managerial work within my publications, oversaw a 30+ student team my senior year, and taught the class in team management and aiding student conflicts. These experiences gave her real-world work experience in collaboration, motivation, and management of people before college. “I bring a lot of energy to the table. I am a positive and easy-going person, and during a stressful situation, having that energy is really important. I am an efficient person and I’m used to working my butt off to get things done and finish my projects.”

THE FISHEEES

Jade grew up in Jupiter Florida. Her hobbies include snorkeling with her dad and working out. “I have been snorkeling with my dad since I was 7. I love to see what’s out there and the water is so relaxing. My favorite memory is seeing a shoal of squid and being able to swim with them for 20 minutes. Snorkeling allows me to de-stress and get ‘out of my head’. I also love to work out because it makes me feel so much more mobile. I’m able to sleep better and I notice I’m much more positive when I’m active. In Tallahassee (I’m a student at FSU), I love going on walking trails with my friends after class or taking a day trip to the springs”.

THE WORLD IS HER OYSTER

For a long time, Jade wanted to be a broadcast news reporter–until she actually got in front of a camera! Now, she’s interested in business as a major in college and eventually owning her own business (or law firm). “Studying entrepreneurship will allow me to think independently and look at a much bigger picture. Entrepreneurs must know how to do everything. Sales, managerial work, marketing, etc. You have to sell yourself and your product.” We have no doubt Jade will work 3x as hard to make everything happen perfectly!
