What Are They Building Behind Salma Hayek’s Mansion?

Actress and producer, Salma Hayek, along with wealthy husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, purchased a home with breathtaking views back in 2007. But those views might be about to change due to the amount of construction that is occurring on the property behind theirs.

The couple bought the home on Bel Air Road in Bel Air from actor Kelsey Grammar for $13.5 million while Salma was pregnant with daughter Valentina, thinking that the 6,811 square-foot 1930s mansion would be perfect for their family. The family spends most of their free time there while Salma isn’t busy acting and producing and Francois is not tied up running his huge French fashion empire.

At the time, the home had gorgeous views of Los Angeles, Bel Air, and the surrounding green landscape. However, a large construction project has begun on the lot behind the home, and depending on what is built, it could permanently alter the views from the courtyard, pool, and endless windows in the back of the home.

The contemporary home has 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and a gorgeous kitchen with multiple islands and the best appliances. The home is also surrounded by tall trees, giving the owners the privacy they desire, and also has a comfortable pool house and outdoor veranda for dining alfresco.

Salma got her start in the Mexican telenovela “Teresa,” and has acted in more than 65 films. She recently produced and starred in “Septembers of Shiraz,” provided a voice for the film “Sausage Party”, and is currently filming “The Hitman’s Bodyguard”. Her husband heads the company PPR which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and many other designers.
