Storm system could become Tropical Storm Emily as early as today!!!

That blob of low pressure about 300 miles east of Martinique is showing “some signs of improved organization” and it’s likely to become a tropical depression later today, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

Officially, forecasters give the system a 90 percent chance of forming a tropical depression or tropical storm in the next two days.

The system is moving west-northwest at about 15 mph. A hurricane hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the area this morning.

The eventual track of this system is unknown, computer model tracks of where it will be several days from now vary from east of the Bahamas to over Hispaniola and off the northeast coast of Cuba, the National Weather Service reports.
