Spotlight on Jupiter Business: Berry Fresh

Spotlight on Jupiter Business: Berry Fresh

When I moved to Jupiter, I spent an entire year in anticipation of breakfast at Berry Fresh. Yes a year. You see, it started with a Sunday morning brunch that never happened, because the line to get a seat at Berry Fresh was around the corner. It wasn’t even snowbird season! We gave up and left. For a year afterward, each time breakfast at Berry Fresh was a suggestion, the place was packed. This only made my curiosity for this breakfast joint grow. If I can never get a seat at this place, it’s gotta be good!

I finally made it! On a random weekday on the off-season, I finally had the chance to taste what this place is all about, and it was worth the wait! I’m talking all-day breakfast, and my suggestion is do yourself a favor and start with the Bloody Mary. The crispy bacon strip that comes stuck into like a straw is a great snack to hold you over until your meal arrives. Whatever you order will be FRESH, because owner Tim Timoteo, who opened the first Berry Fresh in Port St. Lucie in 2009, and has been in the restaurant business for 50 years, know that’s the best and only way to do things right.

Now if you’re anything like me, a place without a good benedict is dead to me. Luckily Berry Fresh has 13 Eggs Benedict options to choose from, and let me tell ya, it’s a hard decision. My menu choice – Aunt B’s Eggs Benedict. We’re talking crispy bacon on a homemade biscuit, poached eggs with made from scratch hollandaise sauce (not the powder mix stuff you get at most breakfast diners), and to add a bit of spicy/sour flavor, pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes tucked right in there. You will not be disappointed.

For those with a sweeter tooth, you have to try the Coconut French Toast. The dish befits the name for sure, with piles of toasted coconut, powdered sugar and cinnamon on top. But if you’re not a coconut person, try any of their 6 other original sweet surprises, such as the Lemon Ricotta pancakes, for example!

I look forward to returning to Berry Fresh to try everything on their breakfast menu, and eventually their lunch menu, while sucking down a few cocktails. My advice to you, go eat at Berry Fresh. My advice to you on a weekend, get there early.
