Jake’s Spotlight on Evergrene’s New Club Director

Maintaining the integrity and coordinating the functions at the renowned Evergrene community can be a difficult task to place on one’s shoulders, especially if you’re a first-time Florida Resident. Although this may be a daunting task for some, Dan Pompile is the man for the job.

Originally from the Northeast, New Jersey to be more specific, for the past 12 years Dan has overseen many high-end and rustic-themed events in his previous position as an event coordinator. So his new position as Director comes very naturally.

I asked Dan what brought him down to Florida and to Evergrene specifically, and as I’m sure most of you have guessed, it was the proximity to the ocean and its picturesque beaches, as well as the close ties the community has to natural preservation. Dan is an avid paddleboarder and enjoys traveling along the coast of Singer Island the most. Being able to enjoy his active hobby year round, dressing in shorts, and enjoying the sun is a major improvement from having to shovel snow and deal with that frigid and sometimes brutal Northeast weather.

One of Dan’s other unique hobbies is his woodworking capabilities. From building new concept furniture to rehabbing and refurbishing “Shaker style,” his talents are many. So Evergrene residents, feel free to stop by the clubhouse and ask Dan about it… maybe you have a piece of furniture you’d like him to put a new spin on?

Dan has many new ideas he would like to implement into the monthly functions at Evergrene, such as integrating the community on a more personal level with new clubs and activities for both seniors, adults, and children to enjoy. Some of these include a community blood drive to help those in need on October 1st, a Trivia night, a Movie night on the beach at Evergrene, and even a Murder Mystery and dinner event. For those of you 18 and over, an “adult only” Halloween party will take place at the clubhouse on October 29th. He hasn’t forgotten about the kids either… presently he is trying to coordinate a naming contest for one of the roaming bobcat/fox residents of the preserve.
