Palm Beach Places Unknown | CopaCabana Cuban Cuisine

If you are in the mood for some authentic Cuban Cuisine, CopaCabana in Jupiter has exactly what you are after for a low price. Just a short drive from Palm Beach Gardens and West Palm Beach, the restaurant is located in the Abacoa Town Center and has a lengthy menu full of different plates to suit any appetite.

The restaurant has a unique blend of authentic Cuban and Caribbean dishes (including a few traditional plates from Puerto Rico) and is surrounded by a tropical setting, lots of pictures of pre-revolutionary Cuba, and live Caribbean-Latin music on Friday nights. The restaurant is owned and operated by Cuban native Gustavo Garcia and has a large Cuban staff.

Dishes range from Cuban-style carne asada to pork chops to traditional Cuban sandwiches to tostones served with a side of mojo for dipping. The bar is fully stocked with a mix of fun variations on classic Latin coolers, including mojitos and strawberry caipirinhas made with casacha. The service was fast and attentive, but if you are in the mood for a paella, we recommend calling ahead, as the large seafood dish for two can take over 45 minutes to cook if you want it fresh.

In keeping with Cuban tradition, the plates are huge and the prices are low. Unlike many of today’s restaurants, many of the appetizers cost under $5 and nothing on the dinner menu is over $20. The lunch menu has incredible savings, as you can get a dinner-sized plate of food with two sides for under $10.
