Navigation

I’ve been to 50 states and 30+ countries. The three most confusing places to navigate — in no particular order — are Boston, New Jersey, and Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens.

Boston is just Boston. No grid system. Not a city to rent a car in.

New Jersey still gives me nightmares. I was in the home furnishings textile business in my early 20s. Most cities, you could just use your map. Not Jersey. There’s East Hanover and Hanover, the City of Orange and Orange, and Irvingston and Livingston. There wasn’t just one map like most cities. I’d have a big book of maps you’d have to turn the page on and imagine where things were. Traffic was awful, and if you missed a turn on the parkway, it might take you an hour to get back—and you’d be forever late for your appointment.

But Legacy Place is the worst of them all. If you haven’t visited Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens — DON’T.

Capital Grille and Barnes & Noble do just fine as they face PGA Blvd. Everything else is a retailer’s massacre. It’s a dystopian outdoor strip center that must have been designed by an architect dealing with severe dyslexia. A maze of smaller to medium-sized stores in the middle with crazy roundabouts, and then big-box stores in the back — if you don’t get lost in one of the roundabouts first. Vacancy seems to run 60–70% and has for 15+ years.

Our own website is packed with an incredible amount of information. ECHO has some unique content, but I get questions all the time like, “How do I get to the Country Club Comparison page?” or “Where’s your listing package?” or “How do I shop by counties?”

So, with Boston, Jersey, and Legacy Place in mind, we redesigned our navigation drastically. If you frequent the desktop website often, you’ll notice the statistics are still at the top. However, many of the tabs are now gone. But don’t worry — the information is still there.

We now have five categories:

BUY
SELL
COMMUNITIES
HOME ESTIMATE
MENU

Under each category, it’s designed with snappy descriptions and, often, with pictures leading you exactly where you want to go. The navigation also opens up from left to right. We think it’s visually easy to use and simpler to digest. I’d love some feedback.

I’ve also included links to our most popular pages that you may not have even known existed!
