Local Happenings | Girlfriend Material at Maxi’s Lineup

Local band, Girlfriend Material, reunited with three of its members for a week in April to play a limited number of shows throughout their hometown area of northern Palm Beach County. The April 1^st gig at Maxi’s Lineup in Jupiter drew a large crowd of longtime fans eager to hear their tunes which they describe as “Experimental Interactive Pop”. The band covers songs from a wide range of genres, often adding their own unique style to the music.

Bandmates Mike McCleary, Bryan Smith, and Adam Piccoli have known each other since their high school days at Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach and have collaborated on numerous musical projects in the years since then while playing almost daily in well-known spots throughout Palm Beach County.

The band parted ways at the beginning of the year after Bryan, a former co-host at the former local rock radio station 103.1 The Buzz, moved to Los Angeles with the other half of his musical duo, guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer Greg Hansen, to further pursue their goals.
Mike McCleary has joined alternative rock band Surfer Blood on guitar and back-up vocals and is preparing to start touring with the band in May.

Inside Maxi’s Lineup

Maxi’s Lineup is part of the Little Moirs seafood dining establishments which are based on the local culture of South Florida. Located near the beach in Jupiter, it is a short drive from Palm Beach Gardens and Tequesta. Adjacent to Food Shack, Little Moirs first establishment, Maxi’s Lineup was opened with the goal of being a venue for local music. It allows you to order the outstanding food from Food Shack while listening to great music.
