Jupiter is an oceanfront town known for its proximity to the Atlantic but it is also a riverfront town because the Loxahatchee River winds through Jonathan Dickinson State Park and then makes its way into the Jupiter Inlet.  There are three different forks to this Federally Designated Wild and Scenic River, one of only two in Florida, and they are the Southwest, the Northwest and the North.  Up on the Northwest Fork is a community where some of the homes sit directly on the River but others are not waterfront.   This is the community of Cove Point.

Homes in Cove Point not on the water are modest three bedroom, two bath homes with about 2,100 to 2,700 square feet of living space.  Most are upgraded with plantation shutters, hardwood or marble floors and granite counters.  They may also have the more popular metal roofs seen in the area since about 2004.  At the end of the road, are waterfront homes where riverfront living is the order of the day.  These homes are bigger with over 3,000 square feet of living space and with docks and boat lifts.  This means that after a day of boating in the ocean, you can come directly to your home, drive onto the lift, step onto the dock and push a button and have your boat come out of the water.  Because the space is highly desirable, there is not enough room on the lots for private pools though.

As they say, real estate is all about location, location, location and there is nothing like a waterfront location and Jupiter and Tequesta have some of the best in south Florida.  Sure, there are miles of waterfront in counties to our south, but they are congested and lack the charm and appeal of our quaint locations.
