Margate is a quaint town that actually gets its name partly from being the ‘gateway to Greater Fort Lauderdale’. The ‘Mar’ part comes from the founder’s last name, Jack Marqsee. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, and the Coral Square Mall is nearby which is home to shops and boutiques galore. Margate is located just 7.5 miles from the Ocean, so you are never far away from a fun day at the beach. Pompano Beach is nearby, and it’s only 20 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
