Homestead is the second largest city in Miami Dade County located just 30 miles south of Miami. The city was incorporated in 1913 and is known for being an agricultural city, it’s all about the great outdoors here. Quieter than Miami the city offers a mix of natural beauty, natural produce, entertainment, and historic and beautiful sights waiting to be explored.
Historic downtown can offer you art galleries, antique stores, and specialty shops. All-natural produce can be found at Taste of Redland, a farm to table service available throughout south Florida. Many of the restaurants in Homestead focus on local ingredients, as do the hotels, and events.
With a great location to Everglades National Park there is plenty of outdoor fun and adventure to be enjoyed. Everglades National Park is a subtropical wilderness that spans 1.5 million acres, within the park you can experience guided tours; ranger led tours include hiking, biking, and canoeing, or maybe you would prefer the swamp walking tour or airboat excursion? The National Park has 3 entrances as it spans 3 counties, one of these entrances is in Homestead.
Biscayne National Park is also close by and offers underwater experiences, as well as a park that can only be explored by boat, there is also a shaded beach adjoining the park.
South Florida is known for its attractions, golf courses, high end shopping, and gorgeous year-round weather. There is plenty to do in Homestead and it’s the perfect place to raise a family in the suburbs of Miami with many top-rated schools.
