Canterbury PGA National homes are one of more than 40 communities which make up PGA National in the heart of Palm Beach Gardens. The two, three and four bedroom homes in Canterbury were built during the period of 1985 to 1999 and range in size from 1,350 square feet to about 2,800 feet. They have dramatic vaulted ceilings and an abundance of glass to enhance the feeling of spaciousness. The community has a stately fountain at the entrance and a clubhouse overlooking a lake. Everything about life in Canterbury is a reflection of the club lifestyle at PGA National. Long known as the paramount club in Palm Beach Gardens, PGA National features five championship golf courses and the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour is currently being played on “The Champion”. The Champion was redesigned in 1990 by Jack Nicklaus, a local resident.
PGA National is a carefully planned development of 2,340 acres located just west of the Florida Turnpike near the clubs of Mirasol, BallenIsles and Old Palm. 800 acres of PGA are devoted to green spaces with parks and walking paths adding to the casual elegance the many golf views afford the residents. On the west side of PGA, where the community melds into preserve with wading birds and other wildlife, 240 acres were set aside as a viewing area for this wildlife.
PGA is really a small town onto itself with the LA Fitness Plaza, real estate offices, fast food, office space and the premier eye care institute in America, Bascom Palmer, located within it.
Shopping at the Gardens Mall is only about five minutes away as is fine dining at place like Bonefish Grill and Cool-A Fish Bar. So, keep Canterbury on your list of homes to consider.
