Palm Beach Gardens Golf Courses

Palm Beach Gardens, located on the southeast coast of Florida between West Palm Beach and Jupiter, offers some of the most diverse and challenging golfing opportunities in the country and the weather this time of year is beckoning golfers to hit the fairways. High temperatures this week are in the 70s.

The premier golfing community in the Gardens is the PGA National Resort & Spa which is home to 5 courses. Four are located within the complex and the fifth is located west of town and is called the Estate Course. Last week, one of the PGA’s courses, ‘The Champion’ was the host course for the Honda Classic. Across PGA Boulevard from PGA National is the Country Club at Mirasol with 2 courses, ‘The Sunrise’ and ‘The Sunset’. Mirasol was home to the Honda Classic for 3 years and these are the newest courses in the area.

Just east of PGA National is the original home of the PGA of America, a club now called BallenIsles Country Club with 3 courses. Built in the 1970s, BallenIsles has a casual elegance not found in the more modern clubs.

Across PGA Boulevard from BallenIsles is the small and very exclusive enclave of Old Palm. This club was to be Raymond Floyd’s legacy course. Old Palm is in a very small group of clubs where caddies are used, no tee times are required, and a busy day might see fewer than 100 golfers on the course. You may never see another foursome during your round when playing at Old Palm.

One of the more established, but less well known clubs is Old Marsh. Greg Norman played out of this club when he lived in Lost Tree Village and before building his ‘Medalist’ Club in Hobe Sound.

Toll Brothers built Frenchman’s Reserve around an Arnold Palmer Signature course and this community is adjacent to Frenchman’s Creek Beach & Country Club. Frenchman’s Creek offers 2 courses and a level of concierge service usually found only in 5-Star resorts.

In addition to golf in the Gardens, you can find even more golf courses in Jupiter, just 10 minutes to the north.
