Jupiter Inlet Colony, a small enclave on the southern tip of Jupiter Island, is one of the most unique areas around. A town unto itself, it even has its own police, so things in this quaint hamlet are quiet. And you can live right on the ocean, right on the Jupiter Inlet, right on the Intracoastal with lighthouse views, or on one of the inland streets. Curiously, although Jupiter Inlet Colony real estate sits directly on the ocean, its elevation is nearly 20 feet above sea level. If you don’t live right on the ocean, getting to the beach is no problem since there are several access points where you can park and leave your bicycle, and a private club with clubhouse right on the Jupiter Inlet.
Jupiter Inlet Colony homes here range from original, Florida ranch style homes, most of which are candidates for demolition, to waterfront estates on oversized lots with sizes from around 1,600 to nearly 6,000 square feet. So some of the properties are move-in ready, yet others are waiting for you to build that dream home.
Like to fish? Some of the best snook fishing in this area can be found right off the docks that line the homes on the Jupiter Inlet. These homes also have southern rear exposures that look across the Inlet to DuBois Park.
Perhaps you don’t need to live on the water but you certainly would like to walk to a secluded beach with clear, warm water any time you like. Although the beach is open to the public, there is no public parking, so residents of this secluded community effectively have a private beach with some of the clearest water around.
Who doesn’t like to feel secure at home? Although there is no gate, the ivy-covered police station sits right at the entrance and first stop sign, so intruders would think twice before entering. And the police are overstaffed so there is always someone on patrol.
