Brooklyn Water Bagel Company comes to Palm Beach Gardens by BallenIsles Country Club

By Jeff Lichtenstein

Yesterday I was showing some clients from New York homes for sale in BallenIsles Country Club. We started some small talk and ‘not finding a good bagel restaurant’ was a topic. We all agreed it was the Florida water that prevented the taste of the bagel from coming out in full.

Funny enough, I drove by Joseph’s Market and saw this funny-looking, giant inflated water bottle two doors south of Joseph’s. It read ‘ The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co’. They have a water treatment plant on premises that duplicates Brooklyn water. They use this in all their ingredients. Today was the opening day and after yesterdays conversation I had to give it a try. First I had a Scooper Melt. A Scooper Melt is when they scoop out the insides of the bagel (good for my figure!) and stuff it with tuna salad, melted mozzarella, American cheese, & topped with tomato slices. I tried the egg bagel which is my favorite. I then ordered a diet coke but the guys in Brooklyn blue uniforms told me I needed to try the iced coffee. The iced coffee has real iced coffee cubes. So cool. I then had a large selection of iced coffee flavors to choose from. I tried the banana float with cinnamon. Yummy.

The menu looked awesome. Lox & bagels with all sorts of bagel & cream cheese varieties. 3-egg omelets, corned beef Reuben, Coney Islands, Brooklyn pizza melts…fugeddaboudit (sounds good), bialy wraps, and a host of healthy salads and soups. Muffin stuffers and real New York pretzels. The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co is at 4403 Northlake Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens.  The phone number for The Brooklyn Water Bagel Company in Palm Beach Gardens is 561-296-9166.  Their slogan, ‘It’s all about the water!’ is true. The Scooper bagel was delish. Happy Eating!
