After Effects of the Election on the Palm Beach County Housing Market

By Jeff Lichtenstein

I talked with one of the regional builders the other day. They had a bad October. I asked why and they said that they believe a lot of it is due to the election.

No matter who you are in favor of, this election has dragged on for 1½ years. Most agree it has been exhausting and filled with anxiety; a definite TV time-sucker soap opera.

My guess is that there is a lot of pent-up demand that has been sitting on the sidelines. The stock market yesterday went up 350 points. Some people who have been in love with watching the election circus are now going to have nothing to watch, meaning, “Honey, lets go take a look at a home.”

The snowbirds are now here in Jupiter and season has arrived. Perfect timing!
