North Palm Beach Homes Real Estate & Homes for Sale

About North Palm Beach Homes
The Village of North Palm Beach is an interesting collection of older, Florida ranch style homes built when home-sites were much larger than they are today. Some of the North Palm Beach real estate is located on man-made canals leading to the Intracoastal Waterway.

Before North Palm Beach became what it is today the land was mostly mangrove swamps and farm land. In 1954 John D MacArthur bought 2,600 acres of land in Northern Palm Beach County and full scale development and incorporation as a village occurred nearly simultaneously in 1956, with extensive dredging creating waterfront cul-de-sacs, and the development of a new east-west artery, Lighthouse Drive, connecting Old Dixie Highway and the newly aligned US 1. US 1 was widened and became the main office and civic corridor. The village won an award from the National Association of Home Builders as best planned community of 1956.

Today you will find that homes are located on streets with a nautical naming scheme such as Lighthouse, Anchorage, Sandpiper and Flotilla. And the Village of North Palm Beach uses a ship's steering wheel as its logo, so you’ll never be far from the nautical theme!

The Village of North Palm Beach has a range of properties available whether you are young and looking to raise a family, or of the older generation looking to retire. There is something here for everyone. Properties range from single family homes, waterfront condominiums, ocean front estates, and private golf communities. You can find simple, affordable homes or homes with luxury upgrades and finishes, and homes with or without pools. All are available in marinas, along tree lined streets, or in picturesque cul-de-sacs. You will have your choice of older, original homes with room for expansion or demolition. Other homes have been completely remodeled or are new construction. No matter which you choose, you will probably have a larger lot within a great community.

The Village is also home to the North Palm Beach Country Club featuring a golf course redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 2006 who lives nearby. The golf course is located on the Intracoastal Waterway and features elevation changes, rolling fairways, and well bunkered greens which make this one of the premier golfing destinations in Florida. The course was lengthened to over 7000 yards from the back tees and is a par 71. Jack Nicklaus designed the course to cater to all golfers, making it playable but challenging at the same time.

Also available at the Country Club is the North Palm Beach Pool which is open to the public all year round. The pool is a 6 lane, 50 meter pool that also features 3 kid’s pools, snack bar, locker rooms, shop, and tiki huts that can be rented. Throughout the summer months you can enjoy spending a fun evening with friends and family by the pool, as The Recreation Department hosts Friday night pool parties once a fortnight. There is a DJ playing all kinds of music to suit everyone, fun and games, swimming, and plenty of eating and drinking at the tiki bar and snack bar.

With such assets as warm weather, sunshine, golf, ocean fishing, boating, sandy beaches, and balmy breezes, North Palm Beach Village has much to offer everyone. It has features including several parks such as Anchorage Park, with playgrounds, volleyball courts, tennis courts, docks, and even a dog park.

Living in North Palm Beach, you can choose to visit the John D. MacArthur Park just North of Singer Island. The island is accessible only by kayak or boat and is a must see in North Palm Beach. You can rent kayaks on the lagoon, take a picnic, and take a stroll along the boardwalk to the beach. MacArthur park is also known as a nesting ground for some rare turtles including the endangered green sea turtle and the loggerhead, so why not take part in the turtle walk and experience this wonder. You can also catch glimpses of some rare birds such as the Peregrine falcon.

South Florida’s year round tropical climate means you can also indulge in open air shopping, dining and entertainment. Why not visit the fabulous Gardens Mall, Downtown at the Gardens, and Midtown at the Gardens which are all about 10 minutes away from your North Palm Beach home, as is waterfront dining at The River House and Seasons 52.

Located close to the Intracoastal, the village is only about 20 minutes from the Palm Beach International Airport via I-95, as well as cultural centers like the Kravis Center and City Place.
