Jupiter Homes Real Estate & Homes for Sale
About Jupiter Homes
Jupiter real estate features homes of virtually all types, sizes and price ranges. From mega-mansion homes of well known celebrities to surprisingly affordable condos that fit almost any real estate purchase plan. Many of the area's homes are on the waterfront while other properties surround championship designed golf courses. Jupiter was established by William Lauderdale in 1838 as a fort to battle the Seminole Indians. Jupiter was originally known as Old Fort Jupiter. William Lauderdale then traveled south where he founded what is known today as Fort Lauderdale. Military Trail, the path he followed, is now named in his honor and is a major thoroughfare running North/South along historic US Highway 1.
Jupiter consists of over 21 square miles and has a population of just over 50,000. Much of Jupiter borders the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). It has its very own inlet, giving easy access to the Atlantic Ocean's deep blue waters and is ideal for fishing and boating enthusiasts alike. The Jupiter Lighthouse right by the inlet was completed in 1860 and is the oldest structure in Palm Beach County.
Sitting below the Florida freeze line, Jupiter is known for its beaches and warm temperatures. The water temperatures average in the 80s, making beach going, swimming, surfing, and snorkeling a year-round pleasure.
Some of the finest golf courses are located in Jupiter. Some of the best designers, from Tom Fazio to Jack Nicklaus, reside in town, providing easy access to the best in golf course architecture. In fact, the Jupiter area is home to 15 Augusta green jackets: Jack Nicklaus (6), Tiger Woods (4), Gary Player (3), Charles Schwartzel (1), and Ray Floyd (1) all reside in or within a neighboring town.
Jupiter is home to the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals for Spring Training as well as the Jupiter Hammerheads minor league team in downtown Abacoa.
Wonderful culture can be enjoyed locally at the Maltz Theatre or take a trip to downtown Palm Beach and visit the Kravis Center for some of the best plays, concerts, and events. Burt Reynolds & Friends museum is also home to the Florida film institute.
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit educationally-based care facility for injured animals. See native owls, panthers, alligators, and bears in this most intimate zoo. Great for birthday parties as well.
The newly completed Riverwalk is wonderful for walking along the Intracoastal Waterway and watching the yachts and boats go by. DuBois Park, located by the inlet, is a terrific park for fishing and young swimmers.
Delicious fine dining featuring some of the best fisheries in the country, as well as shack style restaurants will keep anyone's palette satisfied. The Palm Beach Gardens Mall features Whole Foods and the best in shopping from Nordstrom to Bloomingdales.
Easy access to I-95 and Florida's Turnpike make getting to Palm Beach International Airport and Palm Beach just a 20-minute commute.
Sophisticated in style, sublime in beauty, surrounded by natural dunes, Jupiter offers it all.
