Lanae's North Palm Beach Spotlight: Twisted Trunk Brewery

July 6th, 2017

Lanae’s North Palm Beach Spotlight: Twisted Trunk Brewery

Founded in 2015 by Fran Andrewlevich and Matt Webster, Twisted Trunk Brewery has quickly become a favorite hangout among locals and tourists alike. Fran and Matt are no strangers to the brewing game. They are the founders of Tequesta Brewing Company, a successful local favorite in North County opened in 2011. Twisted Trunk means an exciting new market in Palm Beach Gardens and a chance to do what they love, making more craft beer for all of us to enjoy.

The catchy name ‘Twisted Trunk’ comes from the Banyan tree depicted in the seal of Palm Beach Gardens. They have a versatile line of beers that will please every type of beer drinker. If you don’t like beer, they have a wine selection, too! Beers on tap include: German Pilsner, Watermelon Saison, Irish Red Ale, American IPA, a session IPA, and an English Stout.

I had a chance to sit down with Fran and talk with him about what inspired him to get into the beer brewing business and the exciting news going on at Twisted Trunk. Check out the video: They have live music on the weekends and a yoga class on Sundays with a beer included at the end!

What’s Your Home Worth?

Renovations That Pay

Renovations That Pay

From replacing your doorbell to opening up the kitchen walls, there are certain renovations that will pay off more than others. Kitchens and bathrooms will typically have the biggest impact on resale or upping the value of a home. However it’s what you install that truly makes a difference.

On a smaller scale lighting, cabinet pulls and light switches.  Buyers can tell the difference between quality and the lack of.

Tequesta Things To See & Do! | Constitution Park

November 28th, 2016

One of the most important things I think about when moving to an area is the local community and what it has to offer to its’ residents. Like Abacoa, the Village of Tequesta has some great community and family oriented events that locals and visitors can take advantage of. Most of these events take place at Constitution Park which is located at 399 Seabrook Road (located behind the Tequesta Recreation Center). It’s here where the community comes together to have fun, enjoy food, and share experiences.

4

Constitution Park is a great local spot that you can visit on any given day. The park is about 4 acres big and hosts amenities such as multiple playgrounds, basketball courts, a walking trail, picnic pavilion, gazebo, and restroom facilities. The park is kept in immaculate condition and has plenty of green space to take in and enjoy.

5

Throughout the year, Constitution Park hosts an assortment of different community events which are held monthly. They range from events such as the Food Truck Pow Wows, Movie Nights, Tequesta Fest, Green Markets, Holiday in the Park and Annual Running events. You can see the calendar and list of upcoming events at the following website: http://www.tequesta.org/Calendar.aspx?NID=102&FID=259

Being a local resident of Tequesta Oaks, it’s nice to be able to walk to such a clean park and enjoy events that bring the community together. Whether you are just going to Constitution Park to relax, play or to enjoy some local fanfare, this spot is a must visit!

Tequesta Things To Do & See! | Coral Cove Park

October 28th, 2016

coral

Located on Jupiter Island, just minutes from Tequesta, is a hidden gem called Coral Cove Park.  It’s a great spot for snorkeling/diving, and is a must do for any saltwater life enthusiast. When the water is flat and surf is low, the water is crystal clear allowing for some amazing views into the ocean world! Make sure to bring your waterproof camera or phone as you will see and encounter a vast array of sea life. Coral Cove Park is home to many different varieties of tropical fish and you may even come across sea turtles and the occasional nurse shark!

coral1

Coral Cove Park is one of those places that most people don’t know about, but once they discover it, they tell all their friends. Being a Tequesta resident, I consider it one of the highlights of the area. It’s difficult to find spots like this that provide for a good snorkeling experience so it’s nice to have one just minutes away from Tequesta and Jupiter.

coral2

Even if you aren’t interested in snorkeling, Coral Cove Park also provides a nice, clean, and quiet beach, with its own lifeguard and amenities, such as pavilions and a playground for kids. Additionally, when the tide is low, the beach reveals some breathtaking rock formations which are perfect for pictures or just taking in the views. Watching the waves hit the rocks and spray upward is a beautiful sight. There are also a ton of shells to pick up and collect.

Coral Cove is located just off of U.S. HWY 1. Head over the bridge onto Jupiter Island then head north for about a mile and you will see it on your right hand side. Don’t miss out on this wonderful experience!
