ECHO Podcast # 1 – Rentals are Like Contractual Dating

You can tell a lot about a person by the way they walk.  My Grandma Harriett was a very slow walker. You’d think it was her age, but my Grandpa Gerry confirmed it once when he was in a rotten mood, in pain and a week away from death.  He kept pushing the close button on the elevator while I countered with the open.  See Grandma Harriett was way behind.  Grandpa Gerald said, “Leave her. She’s always been slow!”.

From my office window I see people in our vast parking lot at the LA Fitness Center at PGA National. I’ve seen them all.  Runners, daydreamers, angry Florida man, carefree types, and panicked individuals.  I usually know when someone is coming to interview if they are going to be hired by the way they walk. You could say I’m a professional by witnessing so many people move back and forth to and from their automobiles.  If there were one of those reality shows and they needed a judge to figure out the body language by their walk, I’d be hired.

Therefore, I am professionally qualified to say, our agent Will Dean, the Rental King would win the “man with a purpose” award for his walk.  It’s not a sprint but you’d better get out of the way. Very brisk and moves like Michael Phelps does in water. Will has handled thousands of rentals along with numerous multimillion dollar listings and sales.  Will is an expert in management of rentals as well. And he has some of the strangest and funniest stories I’ve ever heard of.  Mel Brooks could write a whole show based on Will’s encounters.

Who better to interview for our first ECHO Podcast.  Dolphins, and their ability to work together using advanced technology in a Pod is part of our name origins – so a Podcast was a natural for us.

In the Podcast, we talk about the state of the rental market in South Florida. Why rentals are like contractual stories, common mistakes of landlords and tenants, pets and rentals, crazy rental stories, management side of rentals, why rentals are like charity work, bad rental agents, strange but true rental stories, the long-term outlook for the rental market and everything you wanted to know about Will Dean including his famous Uncle who almost became President of the United States…

The ECHO Podcast will be available on YouTube, Spotify, Amazon Music, Podcast Addict, Apple (coming soon) Facebook, and embedded each week our blog, here!.  It’s both visual and audio.  I know you can subscribe to it but have no idea yet how to do so.  If you are into Podcasts, perhaps email me so I can learn. You can listen to the entire episode or go to certain segments.  If you are a landlord, renter, investor, love real estate, or a real estate agent, than this is for you.  However, if you just need a morning giggle, which we all do, go to 14:37 and Will’s stories will put a smile on your face for sure. I promise you won’t sprint to turn it off!
